Ms Alexandrea Thompson Chair Foundation Board (Foundation Board member since 2022)

Alexandrea is a Senior commercial lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, both in private practice and in house with international energy companies, leading and advising on commercial, contract negotiation, transactional, and external relations matters as well as providing advice on corporate governance, including company secretarial and Board advisory matters.

In addition to legal qualifications, Alexandrea holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons)(UWA) and a Masters of Arts (University of Warwick) in History of Art.  She was also a Visiting Postgraduate Researcher at Harvard Law School, which involved researching legal issues in respect of visual arts, museums, and international legal protections for cultural heritage.

Alexandrea attended PLC Perth for her early education years, and has a daughter at PLC, who is a fourth generation PLC girl.

Mr Brian Lynn BBus, FCA Treasurer Foundation Board & Foundation Investment Committee (Foundation Board and Investment Committee Member since 2023)

Brian is also a member of the PLC Finance and Audit Committee.

Brian Lynn has more than 30 years of experience in the Australian resources sector, predominantly as a Chief Financial Officer of ASX listed companies. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and NZ and holds a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University.

More recently he was Chief Financial Officer of ASX listed Pilbara Minerals Limited for seven years and was part of the leadership team that took the company from an explorer to a leading lithium producer with a market capitalisation of ~$15 billion. Brian was instrumental in navigating Pilbara Minerals through a number of lithium market cycles, leading the financial management strategy which ultimately lead to a cash balance exceeding $2.5 billion during 2023.

Prior to joining Pilbara Minerals, Brian served as the Chief Financial Officer at Atlas Iron Limited and spent 12 years as the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Mincor Resources NL. Brian commenced his career with KPMG where he progressed to the position of Audit Manager in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.

Mr Chris Corbett BEng, BComm, GradDipAppFin, GradDipMining, MIEAust CPEng, GAICD Foundation Board Member and Foundation Investment Committee Member since June 2023.

Chris has over 20 years of experience in the resource and finance industries. He is currently a Partner at Resource Capital Funds Management, a mining-focused alternative investment firm. In his role as Chief Investment Officer, he is responsible for the development and oversight of investment processes and is a member of several fund Investment Committees. Prior to joining RCF, Chris gained commercial experience as a member of Wesfarmers’ corporate business development team and underground mining/construction experience with contractor Byrnecut Mining Pty Ltd.

Chris holds Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Western Australia as well as graduate diplomas in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSA and Mining from the Western Australian School of Mines. Chris is a member of Engineers Australia and a graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Paul Early Bachelor Laws (Hons) Foundation Board member since 2021 & Foundation Investment Committee Member since 2021

Paul has over 28 years of experience in legal, banking and finance-related roles. He is currently a founding partner in Barrenjoey Capital which is an Australian owned and managed investment bank and has overall responsibility for its activities in the mining sector and for its Western Australian business. Paul previously had a 13-year career with Barclays Bank Plc including six years in Hong Kong with his last roles being head of Natural Resources for APAC and Co-Head of Barclays Australia. Prior to Barclays, Paul worked in investment banking in Sydney with Investec, Rothschild and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and prior to that was a corporate/banking and finance lawyer at Baker McKenzie and Minter Ellison in Perth. Paul holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from UWA.

Julia Lambo Foundation Board Members

Mrs Julia Lambo  Foundation Board member since 2021

Julia joined the PLC Foundation Board in 2021. Julia is Head of Corporate Communications at Navitas Ltd, a global education provider head quartered in Perth. Julia has nearly two decades’ experience managing internal and external communications to protect and enhance the reputation of complex, global organisations. In her role at Navitas, Julia manages the Navitas Education Trust, a philanthropic fund which has donated over $2,000, 000 to education-focused projects around the world.

Prior to joining Navitas in 2017, Julia was Founder and Managing Director of The Little Feast Company.

Originally from the UK, Julia moved to Australia with her family in 2010 having spent three years living in the United Arab Emirates.

Ms Morgen Lewis Grad Dip Bus (Mkt), BA (Des), GAICD, AFAMI, CPM Foundation Board member since 2020

Morgen is the Deputy Chair of the PLC Council and a member of the Risk and Compliance Committee.

After a 25 year career in marketing roles working across Advertising, Strategic Communications, Stakeholder Management, Change Management and Business Strategy, Morgen was appointed Chief Executive Officer to Auspire – Australia day Council (WA) in 2015. Prior to Auspire, Morgen held Marketing Director roles in the retail, higher education and utility sectors, and most recently was a Partner and Group Business Director with multinational communications agency – The Brand Agency. Morgen has a Bachelor of Arts (design), a Post Graduate Diploma (Marketing), is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Certified Practicing Marketer, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Morgen has been a member of PLC Council since 2016.

Mr James Mactier BAgrEc, GradDipAppFin, GAICD Foundation Board member since 2015 & Foundation Investment Committee member since 2020

James is the Chair of the PLC Council Risk and Compliance Committee. James is also Chair of the Foundation Investment Committee.

James has extensive experience in the resources and finance industries. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Regis Resources, an ASX-listed gold producer and previously enjoyed a 24 year career with Macquarie Bank including 15 years as Co-Head of the Metals and Energy Capital Division and as a member of the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Group Management Committee. James is also a member of the Resource Capital Funds Management Managing Partner’s Advisory Board, the Australian Miners and Prospectors Hall of Fame Foundation and the UWA Business School Ambassadorial Council (WA Chapter). James holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (Hons.) degree from the University of Sydney as well as a graduate diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

James has a daughter enrolled at PLC and a daughter who graduated in 2016.

Mrs Rosalind Potts MPsych, GAICD Foundation Board member since June 2023

Rosalind is the Director of Organisation Capability and Leadership at Lee Hect Harrison, WA, a global consulting company specialising in career outplacement and leadership.  She is also a foundation and college board member of St George’s College where she resided as an international student from Singapore during her studies at UWA.  As an Organisational Psychologist, Rosalind has spent her career as a consultant working globally with organisations such as Shell, Roche, Holcim, and Credit Sussie and in a global HR role at BHP Marketing in the areas of leadership assessment and development and organisation culture and change.

She has lived in Sydney and Singapore and feels very fortunate to now be back in Perth.  She was the President of the PLC Argyle Club in 2022 where she discovered her passion for fundraising.

Julia Schortinghuis Foundation Board Members

Mrs Julia Schortinghuis BCom, PGDipEd, CFP, AFA Foundation Board Member since 2023 & Foundation Investment Committee Member since 2020

Julia is a Director of Lighthouse Capital and has been specialising in the finance industry since 1994.  Ms Schortinghuis has worked as a Vice President with Merrill Lynch Investment Management and has a deep understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation and portfolio risk management. Her work has been acknowledged by Financial Standard in 2018, 2019 and 2020 in the FS Power 50. Julia is a Certified Financial Planner, holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Post Graduate Diploma in Education and completed the Stanford University Executive Leadership Program in 2015. Julia was State Chair of the Association of Financial Advisers Inspire Community of Practice 2015 – 2020, Board member on the Godfrey Pembroke Advisory Board 2014 – 2019, currently sits on the Aquinas College Foundation Council and Chairs the Investment Committee. She has recently been appointed as the inaugural Chair for the Curtin University Financial Planning Discipline Advisory Panel. Julia was Godfrey Pembroke Adviser of the Year in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and is a judge in the Telstra Business Women of the Year awards. She is the host of the community-based “Good Money Habits” podcast and is actively involved in a range of charitable causes.

Mr Scott Edwards BComm, CFA, CA

Investment Committee member since 2020

Scott has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and accounting. Scott joined Butler Settineri in 2016, fresh from a 14 year period as partner at a mid-tier Western Australian financial services firm.

Scott’s aim as a financial planner is to help clients achieve their retirement planning goals by protecting their assets during their working life and steadily build their wealth over time.

Scott’s daughter graduated from PLC in 2021.
