Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer

Are you a detail-oriented individual with strong experience in managing payroll and accounts payable processes? Presbyterian Ladies’ College is seeking an organised Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to ensure accurate and efficient handling of the payroll and accounts payable functions within our school’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including accurately calculating salaries, benefits, and deductions for permanent and casual staff. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Accounts Payable: Handle accounts payable functions, process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers. Reconcile accounts payable statements.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organised and accurate records of payroll transactions, accounts payable transactions, and related documentation.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with payroll and accounting regulations to ensure compliance with legal requirements and school policies.
- Communication: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to perform the required tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, desirable.
- Experience with end-to-end weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll preparation in accordance with industrial awards and agreements, instruction and best practice.
- Experience with Accounts Payable function.
- Proficiency in payroll software, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll and tax regulations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
