Boarding House Year Group Co-ordinator

Boarding House Year Group Co-ordinator

1 x fixed-term, part-time (approx 32 hours per week)

Commencement: ASAP

Duration: Until the end of Term 4, 2024.

PLC seeks to appoint a caring, dedicated and experienced individual to join our Boarding House as a Year Group Co-ordinator. Duties are varied and include managing the wellbeing of the students in your year group; assisting with the organisation and operation of PLC’s boarding house facilities; communicating with parents and key staff; assisting students with school studies; and supervising boarders when attending activities and outings.

Candidates must be able to provide exceptional pastoral care, excellent organisational and communication skills and show genuine interest and compassion to our Boarders.  Applicants must be available for early mornings, evenings, overnight sleepovers, weekend shifts (including sleepovers) and a 2-hour meeting (on Tuesday mornings 9.00am – 11.00am). The ability to be flexible with shifts if required is important. Applications from people with experience working in a Boarding House environment or qualified teachers will be viewed favourably.

PLC will provide accommodation when the role requires a sleepover, and meals when the staff member’s roster coincides with a meal.

Applicants for Boarding House roles must have a current WA Drivers’ License, a Working With Children Check, Provide First Aid Certificate and a National Police Certificate. In addition, the successful candidate will hold or be willing to obtain a Bronze Medallion.

Casual Boarding House Assistants

Commencement: ASAP

PLC invites applications from mature and enthusiastic individuals to join the Boarding House in a casual capacity. A Boarding House Assistant’s duties are varied and include assisting boarders with school studies; supervising boarders when attending activities and outings; providing pastoral care and guidance; and assisting with the organisation and operation of PLC’s Boarding House facilities. This role will include overnight shifts, early mornings, evenings, and weekends to assist with the running of the Boarding House. Accommodation is provided within the Boarding House when called upon for overnight shifts and meals are provided during work time.

Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience displaying responsibility, teamwork, empathy and attention to detail.
