2023 OCA Inspiring Woman

Each year, the OCA Committee endeavours to recognise, honour and profile an inspiring Old Collegian who has achieved success in their chosen field, career or area of personal pursuit.

It is our great pleasure to announce Dr Belinda Hopper (Gwynne 1989) BSc BVMS (Hons) MVS FANZCVS (Radiology), as the 2023 OCA Inspiring Woman.

With a background in equine medicine and surgery and a keen interest in exotic animals and wildlife, Belinda shared her story with the girls at this morning’s assembly, emphasising the importance of embracing new challenges and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone.

A Specialist Veterinary Radiologist with 19 years of experience, Belinda is a founding director of Animalius, a privately owned, multidisciplinary specialist veterinary hospital.

Belinda’s primary interests lie in excellence in clinical radiology, continuing veterinary education and building sustainable workplace culture in the veterinarian industry.

Belinda is a long-standing member of the Radiology Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, with several tenures as President, as well as being a regular mentor and examiner for Fellowship and Small and Large Animal Membership candidates. She is a lecturer and tutor with Murdoch University, Adelaide University and the University of Sydney and has multiple publications and original research to her name.

In recognising Dr. Belinda Hopper as the 2023 OCA Inspiring Woman, the Old Collegians’ Association celebrates her remarkable achievements and the embodiment of excellence in her field. Her dedication to veterinary radiology, commitment to education, and advocacy for sustainable workplace culture inspire us all to strive for greatness.
