The beginnings of leadership starts here.
Discovering what it is to be a leader is integral to all aspects of the educational experience in the Junior School. Whether it be through play, teaching, learning or co-curricular endeavours, the skills of leadership are modelled and practised.
Both specific and distributed leadership models are in effect in the Junior School. Year 6 students are elected to House Leader positions. These roles have specific responsibilities and are a formalised structure within the School. Our leadership roles rely on students developing collaborative teamwork skills through inter-dependent work.
Different students have a chance to represent the views of their year group at regular meetings that are designed to give students a voice on matters specific to them. In addition, a student may take the lead in assemblies and chapels informing the student body of items of interest.
