Tobacco smoke is a health hazard to all students who may be exposed to it and has been directly linked to a range of serious diseases including lung cancer and heart disease.
Presbyterian Ladies’ College’s Policy
Presbyterian Ladies’ College is committed to ensuring that smoking is prohibited on School premises including School buildings, gardens, sports fields and car parks.
Students are responsible for ensuring they comply with this policy.
Disciplinary Procedures for supplying tobacco to other students as well as smoking on premises:
- Parents to be notified, student undertakes a Saturday detention.
- Parents to be notified and a meeting to be arranged with Head of School – Probable suspension.
- Parents to be notified and an interview with the Principal and Head of School – Probable expulsion (This would be at the discretion of the Principal).
