At PLC, the term ‘Lifer’ refers to a student who has spent her entire schooling from Year 1 (or prior) at PLC. Giorgia Chin, one of our most recent graduates, is a Lifer and has achieved an outstanding score in the recent ATAR results release. Giorgia scored a remarkable 97.65 and received a Subject Excellence Award in English!
Giorgia also achieved 100% in practical component of her French ATAR exam – a language she has been afforded the opportunity to study since day one at PLC.
Giorgia first came to PLC in Pre-Primary and since her 13-year journey at the School, she has made life-long friends and revelled in the small, close community that is PLC. She credits her time at PLC for providing both the family-like support which saw her teachers happy to meet with her and provide all the resources and revision tools she needed in order to succeed during the exams, as well as the opportunity to find her passion – her musical ability with the violin.
During her time in the Junior School, she, like all students at PLC, were able to practise music during the daily music lessons. The accessibility to music from such a young age, foreshadowed her love of the violin which has turned out to be a passion and provided cross-disciplinary skills in and of itself.
When reflecting on her time at PLC, Giorgia says, “I have thoroughly enjoyed everything about PLC and am so grateful I was able to spend my entire school life here, and if I was to do it all over again – I wouldn’t change a thing.”
In the future, Giorgia hopes to pursue higher education in the field of dentistry and hopes to be able to join the universities’ orchestra to continue her music.
