Liz Towner. She’s the adored matriarch of both the Towner family and Flametree Wines and her family ties with the School transcend generations. It’s her family ties with the school, her love of her family, and her PLC pride that sees Liz return for the third year as one of the major sponsors of the OCA Art Exhibition for 2021.
Liz’s family connection to PLC dates back to 1919 when her Great Aunt Maud Sholl attended PLC. Throughout the years, five generations of Liz’s extended family have attended PLC. Liz attended herself as a boarder from 1955 to 1958. More recently, Liz’s grandchildren have either attended or currently attend PLC with Old Boys Flynn and Oliver Towner having attended in their early years and Maddie Towner a current PLC student in Year 8.
During Liz’s time at PLC, she thoroughly enjoyed Art so supporting the Art Exhibition seems a perfect fit. Through this partnership, Liz’s family business, Flametree Wines, is able to give back to the PLC community – a community that has nurtured her and her family over the generations.
“Personally, supporting the OCA Art Exhibition through our family business Flametree fills me with a great sense of pride. Professionally, it introduces our label to the broader community and enables them to sample some of our great wines.”
Liz and her family are looking forward to the OCA Art Exhibition where hundreds of artworks by local PLC community members will be on display and available for sale to the community. Flametree Wines will be flowing at the OCA Art Exhibition Opening Night Cocktail Party on Friday 21 May. Tickets cost $45 pre-purchased here or $50 at the door.
