In 2023, PLC will offer two merit-based scholarships to students entering Year 10 in 2023, one Academic and one General Excellence Scholarship.

Who can apply?

PLC welcomes applications from girls who are entering Year 10 in 2023, are not currently enrolled at PLC, and are Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents residing in Western Australia.

Please note this scholarship applies to prospective Day students only. Rural students are unable to be considered due to capacity in our Boarding House.

How to apply

  • Complete the online Scholarship Application which registers your daughter for the academic testing. Applicants who also wish to apply for the General Excellence Scholarship should apply for this in addition to using the Academic testing link;
  • Upload your daughter’s latest school reports and latest NAPLAN results; and
  • Upload copies of relevant references, certificates or commendations to support the application.
  • If applying for the General Excellence Scholarship, upload a brief scanned handwritten summary from your daughter outlining her contributions to the community through service activities, her participation in co-curricular activities and any leadership positions she may have held;

All applications and supporting documentation must be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 18 February 2022. All applicants must be available to sit the academic testing on Saturday 26 February 2022 at 8.30 am. Short-listed candidates will be invited in for an interview between Thursday 24 March and Thursday 7 April.

Award and Acceptance

PLC will award one Academic Scholarships to a student who demonstrates:

  • a conscientious approach to our academic programme and satisfactory progress;
  • strong academic results and progress at school;
  • a high level of engagement in learning activities; and
  • a commitment by the applicant and the applicant’s family to commit to PLC and the life of the School.

PLC will award one General Excellence Scholarships to a student who demonstrates:

  • an active contribution to school life, through the Arts, Sport and community service;
  • an active contribution to the broader community;
  • support of the school values – integrity, learning, community and effort;
  • a conscientious approach to our academic programme and satisfactory progress; and
  • a commitment by the applicant and the applicant’s family to commit to PLC and the life of the School.

Successful candidates will be notified in writing of the award of the Scholarship by Friday 7 April. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified as soon as possible after the award is finalised. Acceptance of the Scholarship should be made via email to the Principal no later than Wednesday 27 April 2022.

Costs not covered by the Scholarship include the remainder of the tuition fees, technology, uniform, musical instruments and tuition, excursions and co-curricular activities.
