In celebration of our amazing teaching staff, we will be showcasing a staff member each week.
This week we feature Ye Tian one of the Language Assistants who assist girls from all years, thanks to support from the Parents’ Committee Fees Draw.
Ye Tian is a native Chinese speaker who grew up in China and is a PhD candidate at the Media and International Culture College of Zhejiang University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Zhejiang University and studied social science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the USA.
Ye Tian loves teaching and has previously taught Chinese classes at the Confucius Institute at UWA.
What inspires you?
The beauty of nature, life itself and people with beautiful hearts.
What are you working on at the moment?
Getting to know more about our students; providing professional assistance in Chinese teaching at PLC.
What is important to you as a teacher?
To cater for students’ individual needs and help each of them reach their potential. I'm happy to see students enjoy their learning as well.
What experiences have you had in the past and what do you feel you bring to PLC?
I grew up in China and have lived in the United States and Australia, as such, I have been exposed to lots of different languages, cultures and methodologies in education. I really appreciate the opportunity to work at PLC and would like to share all my experience with our students and colleagues. I am also really happy to offer students some Chinese cultural activities, such as Chinese classical dance, Tai Chi and Chinese cooking.
