In celebration of our amazing teaching staff, we will be showcasing a staff member each week.
This week we feature Cécilia Muller, Head of Languages and French Teacher.
Cécilia was born and raised in France and has also spent time working and living in the UK and Ireland.
As a non-English native speaker Cécilia brings empathy to the classroom – she knows what it feels like to learn another language and to make mistakes.
Cécilia is also passionate about learning, teaching and opening doors by allowing students to learn about other cultures and languages.
What inspires you?
I know it sounds cliché, but students inspire me, as do the amazing staff I work with. The Eureka moment when a student ‘gets it’ is what made me decide to be a teacher. When I walk around the School after hours and I see teachers helping students, students helping students – I love that community spirit.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on a Leadership course, which is fascinating and I’m hoping to complete my Masters in Educational Leadership. I’m also learning to play tennis, which is great fun.
What is important to you as a teacher?
I think teaching is a wonderful career because you never stop learning. My aim is for my students to develop a sense of achievement and for them to realise that they can do whatever they set their minds to.
