‘Happiness is a free-range flock’ - that is the philosophy behind Sara and Keith Wilson's Gimlet Grove business located at Jilakin Downs, a property three hour’s drive south-east of Perth.

From Gimlet Grove the Wilsons produce their Kulin Klucker open range eggs and their Gimlet Grove Dorper lamb, which will be showcased at PLC Farm2Fork on Sunday 23 July.

Sara (nee Horwood 1981) and Keith’s youngest daughter Emma is currently a Year 11 boarder at PLC. Their eldest daughter, Annabel, graduated from PLC last year and is now studying Commerce at the University of Melbourne. Their son, John, graduated from Scotch in 2015.

For Sara and Keith, delivering the perfect lamb to consumers is all about education.

“We need more people to ask questions about where their food is coming from and how it fits in the market chain, that way we can have a direct conversation between farmers and consumers,” says Sara.

That is exactly what Farm2Fork is all about – connecting people with the farmers who are producing their food and enjoying all the incredible produce that WA, and our boarding families, have to offer.

The Wilson’s Gimlet Grove Dorper lamb is just one of many local producers who are participating in Farm2Fork. There will be over 20 different dishes for attendees to either ‘taste’ or ‘feast’ on, along with craft beers and wines from across WA.
