Annabelle’s Passion for AI and Technology

For Annabelle Lewkowski, a second-year Curtin University student specialising in Artificial Intelligence, the spark for technology and innovation ignited during her time at PLC.

Studying Applied Information Technology ATAR in Senior School helped her discover a passion for technology, and by Year 12, she was making an impact as PLC’s 2023 Technology Captain. It was in this role that she founded the PLC Women in Technology Evening – a student-led initiative designed to inspire and support young women considering careers in STEM.

Annie launched the first Women in Technology Evening in 2023 when she was Technology Captain.

“Technology-based skills are shaping the future,” Annabelle shares. “I want to encourage girls to be part of that change.”

Now, as she pursues a double degree in Software Development and Innovation, Annabelle has returned to PLC to help lead the 2025 Women in Science and Technology Evening alongside Rachel, the 2025 PLC Technology Captain. This event brings together an impressive lineup of female role models from diverse fields, including biomedical science, neuroscience, computer science, data analysis, user experience, and engineering.

Attendees will hear from leaders in their respective industries, who will share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs in STEM. A key focus of the evening will be the impact of AI and emerging technologies on the future of work, with practical insights on how students can adapt and thrive in an evolving landscape.

Whether you’re a student exploring future career options, curious about STEM pathways, or simply looking for an evening of inspiration, this event is not to be missed. Applicable to students from Year 5 and above, the evening is free to attend, but tickets are essential.
