Swim and Recreation Centre

Generations: Enriching the Future

For 95 years PLC has strived to build and maintain a reputation for excellence.  We have enjoyed an international reputation for our progressive approach, academic excellence and outstanding success in preparing young women to lead active, purposeful lives.  Throughout that time we have been able to place ourselves at the forefront of educational change through the support of our school community.

The generosity of past generations of parents and Alumni has seen PLC remain at the forefront in providing our girls with facilities of excellence.  The Peppermint Grove campus has been built through the support of past parents and Alumni who share a passion for providing PLC students with facilities of excellence.   Our Science, Technology, Arts and Middle School building is a recent example of what is possible through the generosity of the PLC community.

PLC has long recognised the need to upgrade the School’s sporting facilities as a priority.  The rare opportunity of a grant of $2.5 million in capital funding from the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution programme has been the catalyst for the establishment of a Swim and Recreation Centre.

The new Swim and Recreation Centre opened in 2011 and has created exceptional opportunities for current students and generations of PLC Collegians to come. The renovation and extension included enclosing and heating the existing swimming pool and a recreation centre on the floor above suitable for activities such as basketball, netball, badminton and dance.

It is encouraging to see how many in our PLC community have supported the campaign to raise funds for the PLC Swim and Recreation Centre to date.  Our sincere appreciation goes to the families who have shown their support and commitment to the School and to every PLC student by making pledges and gifts to the Generations: Enriching the Future campaign.

Please contact Joanne Beedie, Development Co-ordinator on +618 9424 6534 or jbeedie@plc.wa.edu.au if you have any questions about the Swim and Recreation Centre, the Generations: Enriching the Future campaign or making a gift to PLC.
